American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA)
American Society of Travel Agents is the world's largest travel trade association, with over 26,500 members in more than 165 countries. Standing by our motto --- "Integrity in Travel Worldwide" --- we serve the public and the travel industry by championing the rights of travelers and the industry. Cruise Line International (CLIA)
The Official trade organization of the cruise industry, Cruise Lines International Association also works in partnership with nearly 21,000 affiliated travel agencies throughout North America to ensure the highest caliber of cruise sales expertise and service for cruise vacationers. CLIA's web site is a treasure trove of reliable cruise information.
International Airlines Travel Agent Network (IATAN)
IATAN is a not-for profit service organization. Its main goal is to assist travel agents to meet and maintain a specific set of standards that are of value to airlines, the agency community, as well as to consumers.
IATAN appoints US travel agents on behalf of its customer airlines. Each airline sets its own individual criteria for appointment. IATAN then executes an Agency Agreement between the agent and the airline which gives the agent the legal right to ticket on that carrier.
When the IATAN logo is displayed in a travel agency's window, on business stationery and press releases, it demonstrates the agency owner's connection with the international travel community.
